Conclusion

I think that the final outcome for our museum guide would appear more clean and professional if we had printed or used templates for the typography, however, the hand drawn aspect offers a personalised charm in a small concertina. If we had more time to complete the leaflet, we would have created more copies of this leaflet by using the final version as a reference to scan and print out more copies.

In conclusion to this project, I found that working in a group was initially challenging and daunting for our first project. Although, I think that we worked well as a group; we listened to each other and suggested our various ideas so that we could all contribute and collaborate equally. We created a group chat to discuss and share ideas, as well as, plan in person meetings and I think that this balance of online and offline discussion was useful so that we were on the same page in our approach to the project brief. It was refreshing to hear other perspectives and I think that we produced a successful outcome, but I think that one of our main struggles was being too ambitious in approaching this brief.

We overestimated the amount of time we had to complete research and design, and if we could approach this project again, we agreed that we would choose a more specific focus. Although, researching into the Decolonisation of Canada for our imaginary museum was interesting and eye-opening to an issue we were previously unaware of. The guide shows how we have combined primary and secondary research from visits to various galleries and further research such as watching documentaries.

I found that I worked well in this group and discovered some points to improve on next time, such as better time management and choosing a realistic amount of research to complete within our provided time frame. I would also like to research some artists in more detail next time, and better incorporate these ideas into the final product.
